Katie is passionate about serving her community and deeply believes in SVP’s mission of strengthening nonprofits to accelerate community impact. She is skilled in communications, marketing and fundraising, as well as volunteer management, public relations and event planning.
Prior to joining SVP, Katie served as the long time Marketing Director at the WOW! Children’s Museum in Lafayette, CO. She played an integral role in growing WOW! from a small play space into a local destination and a beloved educational resource for families in Boulder County. During her long tenure, WOW! served over 1.3 million visitors. Katie helped WOW! establish the Play for All Initiative, providing museum access and the gift of play to local children and families in need. Katie brings a unique perspective to SVP as during her time at WOW!, the Museum was selected as an SVP Catapult investee. She knows first-hand the impact that SVP can make on a nonprofit organization.
Katie is a Colorado native and a longtime resident of Boulder County. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism & Mass Communications and a minor in Women’s Studies from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Additionally, Katie serves on the Longmont Community Foundation’s Board of Trustees and the Longmont Museum’s Capital Campaign Committee.
Katie lives in Longmont with her husband Jeremy and her sassy Siamese cat Baozi.
