Supporting Nonprofit Growth for Lasting Impact

Contact Us to Find Out MoreCatapult is SVP Boulder County’s longest-running and signature capacity-building program, designed for nonprofits that are ready to strengthen their organization from the inside out. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all support, Catapult provides customized, multi-year partnership to help nonprofits build resilience, sustainability, and clarity at critical moments of growth or transition.
Each year, SVP selects one organization to participate in the Catapult program. Catapult engagements can address multiple focus areas at once—such as strategic planning, leadership development, fundraising, operations, communications, governance, and organizational systems.
Participating organizations receive:
Since 2000, nearly 40 local nonprofits have participated in Catapult, receiving $1.9 million in funding and thousands of hours of hands-on consulting support. In recent years, SVP has prioritized partnering with nonprofits addressing pressing community needs, with a focus on organizations that have not previously received SVP support. We regularly review our portfolio of investees to identify issue areas that are underrepresented, and we seek out nonprofits with limited access to capacity-building support including those led by and serving Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC).
Catapult is rooted in a trust-based philanthropy approach—there is no formal application or grant reporting requirements. Instead, SVP works alongside nonprofits to understand their needs, meet them where they are, and build a partnership grounded in mutual respect, learning, and shared goals.
SVP’s Investment Selection Committee works to identify and invite organizations into the program. Catapult is no longer an open application process.
