Program & Communications Manager
katie@svpbouldercounty.orgKatie MacDonald brings to SVP more than 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector and a deep commitment to mission-driven work in Boulder County. She is passionate about serving her community and strongly believes in SVP’s mission of strengthening nonprofits to accelerate community impact. Katie is skilled in communications, marketing, fundraising and program development, as well as volunteer management, public relations, and event planning.
Katie joined SVP as Development Manager in 2021 and in 2025 transitioned into the role of Program Manager—a shift that reflects both her strengths and passion for building meaningful relationships and supporting nonprofit leaders more directly through SVP’s programming.
Before joining SVP, Katie served as the longtime Marketing Director at WOW! Children’s Museum in Lafayette, CO. She played an integral role in growing WOW! from a small play space into a local destination and beloved educational resource for families across Boulder County. She also helped establish the Play for All Initiative, expanding access to the museum for children and families in need. Katie brings a unique perspective to SVP, having experienced the power of the SVP model firsthand—WOW! was an SVP Catapult investee during her time there.
A Colorado native and longtime Boulder County resident, Katie holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism & Mass Communications with a minor in Women’s Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Longmont Community Foundation and on the Capital Campaign Committee for Recovery Café Longmont.
Katie lives in Longmont with her husband Jeremy and their sassy Siamese cat, Baozi.
