Boulder, CO (May 28, 2026) – Social Venture Partners Boulder County (SVP) is proud to announce that the Early Childhood Council of Boulder County (ECCBC) has been selected as the newest investee in SVP’s Catapult program.
“The high cost and limited access to early childhood education in our county is reaching alarming levels. We need affordability and access for the health of our children and for the future growth of our community. The Early Childhood Council of Boulder County is an organization that is laser focused on helping our community to ease this challenge and their leadership and insight is inspiring. We are grateful to learn and work with ECCBC on this challenge that affects us all,” said Joshua Silberstein, CEO of Social Venture Partners Boulder County.
Catapult is SVP Boulder County’s signature grant making and capacity-building initiative, designed to help nonprofits build resilience, sustainability, and organizational clarity during critical moments of growth and transition. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all support, Catapult provides a customized, multi-year partnership tailored to each organization’s unique challenges. In recent years, the program has prioritized organizations addressing pressing community needs, particularly those that have not previously received SVP support. SVP also regularly evaluates its portfolio to identify underrepresented issue areas.
Rooted in a trust-based philanthropy approach, Catapult operates without a formal application process or grant reporting requirements. Instead, SVP works alongside nonprofit leaders to understand their unique challenges, meet them where they are, and build partnerships grounded in mutual respect, shared learning, and long-term impact.
SVP’s 2026 Investment Selection Committee identified childcare as a critical area of need in Boulder County, recognizing growing challenges around access, affordability, and sustainability. The committee selected ECCBC as an ideal Catapult partner—the only organization in Boulder County serving as a systems-level leader supporting early childhood education and care across the region.
“We are thrilled and honored to have been selected as this year’s Catapult investee by SVP. Never has there been a more important time to invest in our youngest community members and their families and now to have SVP formally join us as a partner we are confident that transformational change is going to happen,” shared Kaycee Headrick, CEO of the Early Childhood Council of Boulder County.
SVP Boulder County believes that quality childcare is both a community necessity and essential economic infrastructure. Reliable childcare enables parents and caregivers to fully participate in the workforce, helping businesses retain employees and sustain productivity. Without continued investment, communities face growing workforce shortages and economic strain. At the same time, the first five years of a child’s life are foundational to healthy development and long-term academic success, making early childhood education a vital investment in the future of the entire community.
As a Catapult investee, SVP Boulder County looks forward to working alongside ECCBC to strengthen the organizational capacity needed to sustain and expand early childhood education and care across Boulder County.
