The impact of Social Venture Partners (SVP) Boulder County’s COVID Response initiative was discussed today on the Community Foundation of Boulder County’s radio show A Public Affair on KGNU 88.5 FM. Host Jim Williams interviewed Joshua Silberstein, CEO of SVP, Allison Billings, Executive Director Impact on Education, and Debbie Pope, CEO of YWCA, on how SVP assisted their organization’s response to the business interruptions and challenges resulting from the pandemic.
SVP’s COVID-19 response initiative connects local nonprofits to thought leaders to enable the organizations to cope with the changes and challenges resulting from COVID-19. SVP Partner, Mark Bouzek, leads the team offering support to nonprofits. SVP Partners first began by providing help with nonprofits’ access to government funds and then to assist with strategic plans, development, leadership, and well-being.
In the interview you can hear from Allison how Impact on Education was able to react to the sudden closures of schools by providing food, remote learning devices, and other support to schools and school children. Debbie was able to share how the YWCA worked with SVP to re-open the emergency drop-in child-care center and to continue other programing amid this pandemic.
The Knight Foundation, through the donor advised fund housed at the Community Foundation, provided support which allowed SVP to begin this program. The program will continue through the summer to provide needed assistance to local nonprofits.
