Together We're Tackling Child Care, Food Security & Affordable Housing

Since 2000, Social Venture Partners Boulder County has strengthened our local nonprofit sector  through pro-bono consulting, unrestricted grants, and peer-to-peer learning that helps community organizations thrive.
Over the past few years, we’ve expanded our focus to systems-level change. After listening to our nonprofit partners, we identified three interconnected challenges where coordinated action can meaningfully improve life in Boulder County: child care accessibility, food security, and affordable housing.

Child Care

Affordable child care is in short supply, especially for infants and toddlers. We support the Early Childhood Council of Boulder County's plan for a new public funding source that would deliver: $20M in direct support to lower- and moderate-income families; $5M to help providers expand capacity; and $2.5M to strengthen system-wide coordination.

Food Access

Rising food costs and shrinking government assistance have made healthy, affordable food harder to access for our most vulnerable community members. We support the Boulder–Broomfield Food Security Network's Food Action Plan, which prioritizes coordinated food procurement, better storage and transport, and community food-skills education — so families can access support with dignity and ease.

Affordable Housing

As home prices climb, homeownership is slipping out of reach for the teachers, health care workers, and small-business owners who make Boulder County run. We're exploring affordable homeownership options alongside City and County initiatives.

Years of coalition-building. A community-wide commitment to what’s next.
We’re bringing nonprofits, businesses, and government together to address root causes — not just symptoms — and build a more accessible, equitable, resilient Boulder County.
