Social Venture Partners Boulder County grants pro bono consulting and $75,000 to local nonprofits; Boulder Institute for Psychotherapy and Research selected as newest recipient.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Boulder, Colo. (May 19, 2014) – Four Boulder County nonprofits are receiving thousands of hours of pro bono business consulting and $75,000 in grants from Social Venture Partners Boulder County (SVP) in 2014. SVP engages community members and nonprofits to work side-by-side.

“After a competitive process, SVP partners voted to support Boulder County CareConnect, Boulder Institute for Psychotherapy and Research, Center for ReSource Conservation, and Safe Shelter of St. Vrain Valley.” says Jennie Arbogash, Executive Director.  “Each organization is unique and doing vital work for our community.  They find themselves at an exciting moment in their development with opportunities to have greater impact by being run more effectively. Our partners saw so much potential, and are thrilled to help them advance.”

Nonprofit recipients are just as excited about working with SVP.  Jackie List, Safe Shelter of St Vrain Valley Executive Director, says “SVP offers a different kind of team around me.  No one else is quite as all-in.” And, Michelle Barnes, Executive Director of Center for ReSource Conservation, exclaims “We’re hopeful for the year ahead.”

SVP has provided over $2 million in pro-bono consulting and more than $1.4 million in cash grants to 24 Boulder County nonprofits since 2000. This mix of time, money, and expertise improves impact and sustainability for nonprofits, while building meaningful relationships between givers and organizations.

In 2014, SVP will work with investees on projects such as strategic planning, marketing, fundraising, board development, human resources, and technology.  Details about all 2014 SVP investments, as well as information about the Boulder County nonprofits SVP has worked with since 2000 can be found at https://www.socialventurepartners.org/boulder-county/what-we-do/fortify-nonprofits/.
