It is our sincere pleasure to introduce our community to Lark Rambo, an SVP Board Member who was appointed to the board in November 2023.
As a leader in Boulder County’s nonprofit sector, Lark Rambo first learned about SVP Boulder County when the COVID pandemic created significant challenges for many direct service organizations in our community. Lark shares, “My first introduction to SVP was at the start of the pandemic when SVP began to convene groups of nonprofit leaders to create a support system as we navigated the unprecedented challenges of that time. As the new Executive Director of Coal Creek Meals on Wheels, I was craving opportunities to connect and brainstorm with other nonprofit leaders, and SVP provided the mechanism for that to happen. SVP continued to support me and my organization through board training, the Invested Leaders program, strategic planning, and connection to other resources.”
When approached about joining SVP’s Board of Directors, Lark states, “I wanted to give back to SVP and support other Boulder County nonprofits, and joining the board seemed like a great way to accomplish both goals. I find personal fulfillment and a sense of purpose through my work with SVP. Knowing that my actions can make a positive difference in the lives of others is incredibly rewarding and motivates me to continue contributing to the community in meaningful ways.”
While familiar with several of SVP’s program offerings for local nonprofits, it is SVP’s Catapult program that excites Lark the most. “I love the Catapult Program model. The level of investment that our nonprofit investees receive is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. When you look at the list of organizations that have been part of the Catapult Program over the years you can truly see the deep roots SVP Boulder County has built in the community. These shining examples of community investment are proof of the lasting impact our Partners have in Boulder County,” said Lark.
Additionally, Lark has a fierce commitment to giving back to her community and believes in the power of collective action to drive change in Boulder County. She shares, “Boulder County is my home. By giving back, I am able to contribute to the well-being and growth of the community where I am raising my kids and have lived for the past 12 years. Volunteering, supporting local businesses, participating in community events, and supporting the nonprofit community allows me to actively contribute to making Boulder County a better place for everyone. I believe in the power of collective action and the impact it can have on addressing social, environmental, and economic challenges. By giving back, I can be part of the solution to these issues, working alongside others who share the same commitment to create a more resilient and thriving community.”
Professionally, Lark has more than 20 years of experience working with nonprofit and governmental organizations developing afterschool programs; orchestrating large-scale community service projects; managing a public awareness campaign; and developing robust communications, marketing, and fundraising programs. Lark previously served as the Executive Director of Coal Creek Meals on Wheels and is currently serving as the Executive Director of the St. Vrain Valley Schools Education Foundation. The mission of the Foundation is to provide resources and educational opportunities, in partnership with St. Vrain Valley Schools and local communities, to enhance student success and teacher excellence.
Originally from Wyoming, Lark has lived with her family in Lafayette for the past 12 years. She loves trying new restaurants and returning to her favorites as well as enjoying the beautiful trails in Boulder County including walking along the Coal Creek trail. In her free time, Lark also enjoys reading, cooking, and volunteering.
