SVP Boulder County Celebrates Nonprofits on November 12, 2024

Boulder (November 7, 2024) – Social Venture Partners Boulder County (SVP) announces the 2nd Annual Celebrating Nonprofits event on Tuesday, November 12 at 5:00pm-8:00pm at the Longmont Museum.

SVP Boulder County believes that strong nonprofits make for a strong community. For 25 years, SVP has strengthened nonprofits by connecting them to community members who share our vision for a thriving Boulder County. Celebrating Nonprofits, a community event hosted by SVP, celebrates the impactful work of Boulder County’s nonprofit sector and the nonprofit leaders moving our community forward.

Designed to create connections and dialogue, the event will feature:

  • Remarks from Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser
  • A panel discussion with local community leaders discussing the critical issues facing Boulder County. Panelists include Aaron Brocket, Mayor of Boulder; Carla Colin, President of the Latino Chamber of Commerce; Kriste Peoples, Executive Director of Women’s Wilderness; and Eric Hozempa, CEO of the Longmont Community Foundation.
  • An inspiring presentation from our featured nonprofit El Comité de Longmont.
  • Opportunities to network and connect with influential nonprofit voices in our community.

As a community convener, SVP works to bring together nonprofit organizations, SVP’s philanthropic Partner members, and community leaders to create meaningful change. “By coming together as a community and partnering together as organizations, we can provide the support necessary to care for our community. Our network of nonprofits, philanthropists, government organizations and community foundations will lead to working skillfully with the endemic challenges in our community,” said Joshua Silberstein, CEO of SVP Boulder County.

Through SVP’s Catapult program, nonprofits receive in-depth support including cash grants, consulting, training, resources, and more. These engagements last up to three years and can support several focus areas within an organization at once. As a current Catapult program participant and as the featured nonprofit of the event, Lisa Moreno, Executive Director of El Comité de Longmont shares, “Being a Catapult participant has been a gift!  SVP has helped us improve our organizational infrastructure.  As a result, the board will soon be voting on our new strategic plan, which was expertly facilitated by an SVP consultant. The combination of the training and financial support that El Comité has received has catapulted the organization to a new level.”
