It is our sincere pleasure to introduce our community to Scott Teigen, a new SVP Partner member who joined in January 2024.
Eager to make a local impact, Scott Teigen discovered the SVP model in a unique way—through a nationwide presentation by SVP Boston. “A colleague introduced me to SVP while I was exploring a transition from corporate life to focus on nonprofits. I enjoyed volunteering with local organizations such as Ignite Adaptive Sports and Achilles Boulder and was eager to find additional opportunities to contribute to our community. Learning more about SVP’s approach, I was excited to see the chance to leverage my professional expertise to apply strategic thinking to the nonprofit challenges in Boulder County,” Scott shared.
With a rich background in management and strategy consulting, Scott is enthusiastic about gaining insights from fellow SVP Partners and the local nonprofit sector. “I’m eager to collaborate with and learn from a team of community-focused Partners,” Scott said. “I look forward to leveraging my experience in strategic planning and partnerships to engage with local leaders and drive sustainable improvements in areas where we can make a significant impact.”
Scott has seamlessly immersed himself in SVP engagements, quickly putting his expertise to work. As a valuable addition to SVP’s Impact Cohort, he shares, “Getting involved with the Impact Cohort has been exciting. It’s impressive to see the community involvement and engagement with local public leadership to bring people together to address some of the larger challenges we are facing in Boulder County, such as Early Childhood Care and Education. It is inspiring to see the potential positive ripple effects that can be achieved with success in these areas.”
He has also been involved in the OCAT (Organizational Capacity Assessment Tool) process through SVP’s partnership with the City of Boulder’s CCRS Tax Grant program participants. “The OCAT team’s work fascinates me. It allows us to jumpstart the process of aligning nonprofit leadership teams around a future path that can increase their impact,” said Scott.
After growing up in the mountain west, Scott and his family relocated to Longmont in 2020, motivated by a desire to make a difference in their new community. “I believe that meaningful change begins at the grassroots level. On a personal note, as a father of a child with disabilities, my family has experienced first-hand how lives can be positively impacted by a strong, supportive local community and network of nonprofits. I want to do as much as I can to contribute and continue building on what we have in Boulder County,” Scott states.
In his free time, Scott enjoys spending as much time as he can outdoors with his family and friends. He enjoys mountain biking, trail running, skiing, family camping and road trips, as well as playing guitar and piano to relax.
Please join us in welcoming Scott Teigen to SVP Boulder County!
