Upcoming Leadership Transition for SVP Boulder County

A Letter from Jennie Arbogash

It’s with gratitude that I announce my upcoming departure from SVP Boulder County (SVP) after 12 years of working in partnership with you, our amazing local nonprofit leaders and philanthropic changemakers.

I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together since I took the helm of SVP at the beginning of 2008, seeing this organization through both the challenges of the recession and the opportunities of significant growth. During my tenure, SVP doubled the number of philanthropically-minded Partners and extensively expanded nonprofit programming. By 2008, SVP had worked with a total of 13 nonprofits; since then, we’ve supported several hundred organizations. SVP is now a community leader in nonprofit capacity building and high-level volunteer engagement. Most importantly, we’ve built strong, meaningful partnerships and relationships that lead to a more vibrant community for everyone living here.

I remain dedicated to – and passionate about – the vital role of SVP in Boulder County; to support SVP’s leadership transition, I’ll continue in my current position until our Board has selected a successor. Thereafter, I’ll stay involved as a Partner with SVP Boulder County and as a Board member for SVP International.

Meanwhile, our local Board of Directors is committed to stewarding our common vision and enhancing a vibrant, impactful organization. The Board has formed an Executive Search Committee comprised of Board members, Partners, nonprofit participants and staff that begins its work this month. More information, including a job announcement and hiring timeline, will be available in October. At that time, we ask for your help in widely promoting the position among your networks.

This has been a bittersweet decision for me, as I’ve loved my time with SVP and working side-by-side with each of you. I plan to start my own nonprofit consulting business, allowing me to get back to working more directly with nonprofits on the substantial opportunities and challenges we face in creating a more just world.

There are no words to thank you for the trust, generosity, support and friendship you’ve shared with me. I look forward to continuing in relationship with you in a new way and to helping SVP thrive under new leadership.

Yours in service,
