Welcome Mary Swanson, SVP Program Coordinator

Jennie, Shannon, Olga, and Carolyn are excited to welcome Mary Swanson as SVP’s newest staff person. As SVP’s new Program Coordinator, she’ll be responsible for providing management and administrative services to programs that serve nonprofits and givers in order to further the mission of the organization.

Having worked for nonprofits in the past and settling in to Boulder following her recent move, Mary knew connecting to the nonprofit community here would be a great way to get to know her new home better. In the process of doing so, she learned about SVP’s unique model and saw a lot of potential in its ability to have profound impact.

“Identifying ways to involve community members and leverage their skills, knowledge and experience outside of their daily work is integral to society. It increases community engagement, empathy and overall happiness because people are involved in shaping their community into a place they want to live and thrive. SVP plays a key role in engaging community members in this way for Boulder County.

“SVP connects so many people from multiple sectors to share expertise, strengthen skills, and make a difference,” she says, continuing, “Instead of having a bit of impact within a small organization, I really like the idea of my contribution having a broader, expanded web of impact across so many organizations.”

SVP is eager to leverage the many skills Mary brings to her role with SVP. Her formal training and experience in group facilitation and project management, paired with her graduate work focused on adult learning and program evaluation are all highly relevant. She is SVP’s second full-time staff person, and will be available in the office Monday through Friday between 9-5pm. Learn more about Mary in her bio, and get in touch at 303-800-7230 or by email at mary@svpbouldercounty.org.
