It is our pleasure to introduce our community to Vanessa Kroeger, Director of Corporate Events & Partnerships at Kuper Wine Bar, a new SVP Corporate Partnership!
Vanessa describes herself as just beginning her journey toward making an impact in Longmont and Boulder County, but she’s certainly not new to the work. Much of her professional career has been rooted in the nonprofit sector, and that passion for supporting local organizations is what ultimately drew her and the Kuper team to SVP.
What matters most to her is keeping the community engaged with the nonprofits doing the work — whether that’s addressing food and housing insecurity or supporting education and cultural life across Boulder County. She doesn’t believe meaningful engagement has to be dramatic to make a difference. “It could be as simple as a conversation or making a connection between two community partners,” she says, “or receiving feedback from board training or input.” For Vanessa, it’s often the little things that add up to meaningful impact, and knowing she’s contributing to the growth and success of the nonprofits SVP works with is what would make her time here feel worthwhile.
Fellow Partners might be surprised to learn that Vanessa is a speed reader, capable of finishing a novel in a matter of hours depending on length. It’s a hobby she loves, though she’ll admit it’s an expensive one! She’s a devoted physical-book reader, no e-readers allowed.
Vanessa credits her father with shaping how she thinks about community and generosity, both in the personal connections he built and in how freely he gave back. These days, she’s channeling that same curiosity into wine — always a casual enthusiast, she’s now diving into the producers Kuper works with, eager to learn their processes and the stories behind the bottles. The opportunity to work with Doug and Julie Oldfield, the owners of the Kuper Wine Bar, as they deepen their community impact, is a perfect fit.
For a Boulder County recommendation, Vanessa points to Ollin Farms, her go-to for weekly produce, tamales, flowers, and anything local and fresh — that is, when she isn’t at Kuper. And if you’re hoping to invite her along for an activity, keep the hiking boots at home. “Please don’t ask me on a hike,” she says. “You’ll find me at a bookstore, walking my dog, or sipping wine on the patio.”
Please join us in welcoming Vanessa Kroeger to SVP Boulder County — we’re so glad she and the Kuper Wine Bar are part of the SVP Partner Community!
