Last week, Boulder County experienced tragic flash flooding. With the water receding and recovery efforts in full swing, SVP Boulder County is in the early stages of assessing our response. Thousands of homes have been damaged, hundreds are destroyed, roads are washed away, and basic infrastructure is lost. The community will be impacted for the foreseeable future.
Jennie Arbogash, SVP Executive Director, reports:
“The Board and I are working to craft a meaningful, helpful, and strategic SVP response to the flood. We are making an immediate grant to help investee Boulder County CareConnect with relocation expenses, serving as a source of information and referrals, working with local recovery response coordination, collecting needs from our investees, and helping our community understand why it’s critical to give to both flood relief and on-going nonprofit support systems. In the coming weeks we expect to make additional decisions about grants and ways in which we can share our professional expertise with nonprofits responding to the flood.”
