A Cause for Celebration!

Over the last 12-16 months, we’ve witnessed the power of connection. While numerous studies prove that as social animals, humans need each other to feel supported, valued and loved; there is nothing like a pandemic to remind us how important connections and relationships are to our well-being. They bring meaning, hope, and purpose to our lives – even health benefits! Whether it’s hearing a friend’s voice, engaging in SVP work, supporting others, or hosting an event; these relationships help to sustain us through difficult times. Our fortunate return to in-person events this summer, while potentially short-lived, brought me profound moments of gratitude, laughter, and deep connection for which I’m very grateful. How about you?

SVPBC’s 21st Anniversary Event is coming up on Tuesday, September 14th from 6-8 pm and we hope to capitalize on the opportunity to meet in-person while we still can safely do so outside. We hope you’ll join us to celebrate while also raising funds for SVP Boulder County. Together, Staff and Partners connected with over 100 different non-profits in Boulder County to lend support and guidance during a time of great uncertainty and turbulence. We pivoted our programming to provide leadership advising, fundraising and board governance training as well as strategic planning, technology, and marketing support. We’re continuing to invest in justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) training; and as part of our culture work, we are collectively beginning to acknowledge that SVPBC’s greatest asset and challenge is to acknowledge our power and privilege and use it for social good. It’s time to celebrate over two decades of successes together!

If you haven’t already, please RSVP today! Current Partners, Alumni, Non-Profit and Community Members are all welcome. We’ll be enjoying an evening of food, drinks and good company and the event will now be hosted outdoors. Consider bringing a friend or colleague to learn more about SVP. There is no cost to attend yet our goal is to raise $10,000 that will allow us to unlock a Board match and expand our network, increase training and educational opportunities, and invest in more non-profits. If you are unable to attend, please consider making a financial gift in advance.

Thank you for all that you do to make our community brighter. Let’s celebrate!
