The heart of SVP is how we pair Partner purpose with nonprofit mission. Partners bring business acumen to a nonprofit’s need to demonstrate impact – and both sides win.
Big picture or small, Investees describe their SVP experience in a variety of ways. “There’s nothing like SVP in terms of helping build capacity, and improving the overall quality and efficiency of a nonprofit,” reflects InReach’s Executive Director, Cynthia DiVino. “The insight and mechanisms that SVP Partners used to help us move forward have made a huge difference for the organization.”
The impartiality of an outside perspective is a benefit Investees often find when SVP Partners come on to do the work. “SVP asks if we’re serving our mission best – the process helped us get to know ourselves better, deeper.” says Nia Wassink, Executive Director of Voices for Children CASA. “Having SVP Partners involved is so much more valuable than a grant. The experience they bring and their depth of involvement in your organization is unique. Partners gather all the data points and see things I can’t while in the weeds of day-to-day, helping evaluate and elevate the work to a higher level,” says Nia.
Adaptability is a key component of SVP’s approach. For Investee Boulder County CareConnect upheaval was a theme in 2014, as the organization continued to service clients while contending with the impacts of flood, fire and leadership loss. “You have to be able to sustain yourself to continue providing services for stakeholders,” reflects Jim Rianoshek, Executive Director of Boulder County CareConnect, “SVP synthesizes both sides of the equation – nonprofit outcomes with for-profit approaches. SVP supplements and provides the methodology and process expertise that helps nonprofits deliver in a smart way that’s supportive of the mission.”
