Wanted: Partners for SVP Boulder County's Board

SVP’s Board of Directors (comprised entirely of Partners) has been hard at work visioning and planning for our future.  Now it’s time to make things happen!  It’s a perfect time to bring on new Board members who will help us act on our goals to impact Boulder County.

SVP is looking for one to three new Board Members to serve a three year term beginning in November.

SVP Boulder County’s Board of Directors is the governing body, overseeing vision, mission, and internal operations of the organization. Board members hold overall fiscal and managerial oversight responsibility for SVP Boulder County. They are charged with the supervision and oversight of SVP Boulder County’s mission. Ultimately, board members serve as ambassadors for SVP Boulder County’s mission, inside and outside of organizational commitments.

Individuals who have been active SVP Partners for 6 months or longer are welcome to apply. No previous board experience is needed. The nomination process includes:

  • an online application (due by Sept 22),
  • two-way interview conversation with the Governance Committee (scheduled between Sept 22 – Oct 7),
  • attendance at the Oct 23 board meeting,
  • approval by the Board (Oct 23), and
  • vote by the full partnership (Oct 28).

All applicants will be contacted by the Governance Committee for an interview.

This is a powerful opportunity to learn about board best practice, develop your leadership skills, serve our mission, and create the SVP we all want!

Review the SVP Board job description and apply online by September 22, 2014. Contact Emily Davis, Governance Committee Chair, with questions.
