Be a Part of Something Big: Join SVP Boulder County's Board of Directors

Have you been looking for the right opportunity to learn about board governance, develop your leadership skills, serve SVP’s mission, and create long-lasting impact? Membership on SVP’s Board of Directors may be just the thing for you. SVP is looking for up to three new Board Members to serve a three-year term beginning January 2019.

Board service is open to current SVP Boulder County Partner members and alumni nonprofit clients of any program.  “Integrity, quality, and equity are some of SVP’s highest values,” says Jennie Arbogash, CEO.  “Including a strong nonprofit client voice in SVP’s leadership helps us stay true to our mission and walk our talk.”

The Board of Directors has a duty of care, loyalty and obedience – it works to develop and oversee mission, vision, strategy, financial well-being, integrity, accountability, planning, itself, the CEO and more. Board members are expected to contribute 6-10 hours a month including attending monthly board meetings, serving on at least one committee, representing the organization, and being active in additional activities.

Individuals who have been active SVP Partners for 6 months or longer OR who have been engaged with SVP as a nonprofit client are welcome to apply. No previous board experience is required.

The nomination process includes:

  • an online application  (due by July 1),
  • two-way interview conversation with the Nominating Task Force (held by late August),
  • attendance at the September or October board meeting,
  • approval by the Board (Oct 18),
  • and vote by the full partnership (November).

All applicants will be contacted by the Nominating Task Force. Review the SVP Board job description and apply online by July 1, 2018. Contact Jennie Arbogash with questions.
